Matt’s Art Direction journey began early…at the age of 12 to be precise, when his comic strip of Jeff, the terribly unlucky yet insanely positive decathlete, came runner-up in the South Wales Echo schools ‘invent a character’ competition. Coming runner-up only served to increase his appetite for creative possibility and following a few years of experimentation as an outdoor survival and climbing instructor (where he prides himself on his 6 months and no deaths average) and a DJ, he finally settled on a career in ‘words and pictures’, It’s amazing how much a degree in Typography can settle the body and mind.
Matt’s creative radar directed him to inspiring opportunities in London, New York and Bristol creating solutions for clients such as Irish Beef, Thistle Hotels, Dyson and Williams F1. Now of course he has arrived in the wonderful Cotswold hills where he found Oomph, or did Oomph find him? Either way it’s a match made in heaven and he's wasted no time in cracking some briefs with his partner Stuart...wouldn't it be great if they could break some records too.
When he isn’t being part of Oomph’s creative team, you can find him zipping down a Welsh mountain on his bike or rummaging through records at his local record shop. Beware, he has decided to learn to surf this year, so be sure to listen up for the mock Miami twang he has been working on…dude!
