After graduating with a life sciences degree, Nichola’s first commercial experience was gained in the West End, on the retail sales floor. She subsequently jumped at the opportunity to train as a media planner buyer with Mediacom, working on B2B and B2C accounts ranging from FMCG to Agrochemicals and using the very first Apple Mac personal computers – late 80’s!. Working in a media independent provided great buying experience across integrated campaigns involving outdoor, TV, radio, national press and magazines.
Nichola then moved on to co-found the in house media department at EHS Brann, and grew the billings to > £10m as media director, with the focus on responsive media. She launched a number of financial services ‘direct brands’ including Zurich and Norwich Union. Both the IDM and DMA asked her to lecture on the subject of using media for direct marketing. Again as media director, Nichola moved to Target Direct taking the Salvation Army Account along, where she really learned her ROI’s on other fundraising accounts such as RSPCA, Imperial Cancer and Help the Aged.
Nichola joined Oomph last year to plan & buy digital media, working with former colleagues from EHS Brann and is the agency expert on alternative transport.
