Stuart creates the words with Oomph.
Born on a railway siding in deepest Somerset, his career has never strayed far from the GWR route map in 3 decades. First, Stuart commuted to Art College in Plymouth, where he discovered his love of advertising and became addicted to N50 markers. He then headed back to Bristol for his first job, as a copywriter at McCann-Erickson. He liked it so much he stayed for 15 years – working on everything from radio commercials for the local paper to big campaigns for British Gas and Bayer. During his time at McCanns, Stuart could often be spotted traveling up to London or Manchester to collect another industry award.
After earning D&AD membership, Stuart changed at Cheltenham and ventured into the world of direct marketing for 5 years. At The Direct Agency, he created successful campaigns for both charity and financial clients. How Stuart found his way to join us here at Oomph in 2008 is beyond us. After all, Cirencester is a good 4 miles from the nearest railway platform. When he’s not making the headlines here at the Old Museum, Stuart can be found enthusiastically tampering with his latest weekend renovation project; a 1972 VW camper.
